Regular price $11.99

Cooking Methods:

  1. Pan Fry: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Season the beef cubed steak with salt, black pepper, and any other preferred spices like garlic powder or paprika. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a rich, golden brown crust. Serve the pan-fried steaks with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a flavorful mushroom gravy.
  2. Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Season the beef cubed steak with salt, black pepper, and any desired herbs like thyme or rosemary. Place the steaks on a baking sheet and cook for approximately 15-20 minutes or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For an extra kick, top the steaks with caramelized onions and melted Swiss cheese during the last few minutes of cooking. Serve the oven-baked cubed steak with roasted vegetables and a rich beef au jus.
  3. Crockpot: Slow Cooker Swiss Steak: Season the cubed steaks with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. In a skillet, brown the steaks on both sides to seal in the flavors. Place the steaks in the crock pot and top with sliced onions and bell peppers. In a separate bowl, mix together a can of diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Pour the mixture over the steaks in the crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the meat is tender and the flavors have melded together. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

Sauce Ideas:

  • Mushroom Gravy: Sauté sliced mushrooms and onions in butter until golden. Sprinkle in a tablespoon of flour and cook for a minute to create a roux. Gradually whisk in beef broth and a splash of heavy cream. Simmer until the gravy thickens, and season with salt, black pepper, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce.
  • Beef Au Jus: In a saucepan, combine beef broth, a splash of red wine, minced garlic, and a pinch of dried thyme. Simmer until the liquid reduces slightly and flavors meld together. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Recipes:

  • Country Fried Steak: Season the cubed steaks with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge them in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with a mixture of flour and breadcrumbs. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the steaks until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, and a side of country-style white gravy.
  • Crockpot Beef Stroganoff: Season the cubed steaks with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. In a skillet, brown the steaks on both sides to develop a nice crust. Transfer the steaks to the crock pot and add sliced onions and mushrooms. In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and a pinch of thyme. Pour the mixture over the steaks in the crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the meat is fork-tender. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in sour cream and a splash of heavy cream to create a creamy sauce. Serve the beef stroganoff over egg noodles or rice.
