Whole Chicken - Whether you prefer the convenience of an oven, the slow-cooked tenderness of a crock pot, the smoky flavors from a smoker, or the sizzling grills, our Whole Chicken is ready to elevate your cooking experience.

Cooking Methods:

  • Oven: Preheat your oven to the desired temperature, season the chicken with your preferred seasonings, and place it on a roasting rack in a baking dish. Roast until the internal temperature reaches 165°F for juicy and perfectly cooked meat. Baste occasionally for added flavor and moisture.
  • Crock Pot: Place the chicken in the crock pot along with your favorite vegetables, herbs, and spices. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and falls off the bone. The slow cooking process ensures maximum flavor and tenderness.
  • Smoker: Prepare your smoker with your preferred wood chips and bring it to the desired temperature. Season the chicken generously and place it on the smoker rack. Smoke at a low and consistent temperature for several hours, infusing the meat with deep smoky flavors.
  • Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Season the chicken and place it directly on the grill grates. Cook for approximately 45 minutes to an hour, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. The grill imparts a delicious char and smoky flavor to the chicken.

Preparation Ideas:

  • Classic Roasted Chicken: Rub the chicken with a mixture of herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and garlic. Roast it in the oven until golden brown and serve with roasted vegetables and a side of mashed potatoes for a comforting and timeless meal. See below for using leftovers*
  • BBQ Pulled Chicken: Slow-cook the chicken in a tangy barbecue sauce in the crock pot until the meat is tender. Shred the chicken and serve it on buns with coleslaw for a mouthwatering sandwich.
  • Smoked Lemon Herb Chicken: Marinate the chicken in a zesty blend of lemon juice, garlic, and fresh herbs. Smoke it until perfectly cooked, creating a succulent and aromatic dish. Serve with grilled vegetables for a vibrant and healthy feast.
  • Chicken Soup: Simmer the chicken with aromatic vegetables, herbs, and spices to create a flavorful broth. Add noodles or rice, and vegetables for a comforting and nourishing soup.
  • Chicken Salad: Shred the chicken and mix it with mayonnaise, celery, and seasonings to make a delicious and versatile chicken salad. Enjoy it in sandwiches, wraps, or on top of salads.

*Use the leftovers to make chicken noodle soup, and use the leftover frame to make chicken broth/stock:

  • Using Roasted Chicken for Chicken Noodle Soup:
  1. After enjoying your delicious roasted chicken, remove any remaining meat from the bones and set it aside. Shred or chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large pot, sauté diced onions, carrots, and celery in a bit of olive oil until they soften and become fragrant.
  3. Add your preferred seasonings such as garlic, thyme, and bay leaves to the pot, along with the chicken pieces.
  4. Pour in chicken broth or stock*(Recipe Below) and bring the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 20-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  5. Add your favorite pasta, such as egg noodles or rotini, and cook until al dente. Be sure to follow the recommended cooking time on the pasta package.
  6. Adjust the seasoning to taste, adding salt, pepper, and any other herbs or spices as desired.
  7. Serve the chicken noodle soup hot, garnished with fresh parsley or dill if desired. It's a comforting and nourishing dish perfect for chilly days or when you need a hearty meal.

*Using Leftover Chicken Frame for Chicken Broth/Stock:

  1. Once you've removed all the meat from the roasted chicken, don't discard the carcass! It can be transformed into a flavorful chicken broth or stock.
  2. Place the chicken frame (bones, skin, and any remaining bits) in a large stockpot or slow cooker. Add chopped onions, carrots, celery, garlic cloves, and any other aromatic vegetables and herbs you prefer.
  3. Pour enough water into the pot to fully cover the chicken frame and vegetables.
  4. If using a stockpot, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for a minimum of 2 hours, or ideally up to 6 hours. If using a slow cooker, cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  5. As the broth simmers, skim off any foam or impurities that rise to the surface using a spoon or skimmer.
  6. Once the broth has simmered for the desired time, remove the pot from the heat and strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any solids.
  7. Allow the broth to cool, then store it in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze it for longer storage.
  8. The homemade chicken broth/stock can be used in various recipes such as soups, stews, sauces, and risottos, adding a depth of flavor and richness to your dishes.

By utilizing the roasted chicken for chicken noodle soup and transforming the leftover frame into homemade chicken broth/stock, you can maximize the deliciousness and minimize waste, ensuring every part of the chicken is put to good use in your culinary creations.
